My Apple devices aren't connecting! DHCP and manual IP settings.

If you're using Apple's Home Sharing system, there's  a chance you'll encounter a connection/IP issue.

What is Home Sharing? Users can register up to 5 devices in their home network to Apple servers so data can be easily shared between the 5 devices. Meaning you can view photos and videos from your iMac on your iPhone or Apple TV. Devices are registered via their IP on the home network.

Asus routers provide DHCP which is a smart algorithm that allocates IPs to each connected device. This program helps balance bandwidth allocation and also provides security to the connected device.

Unfortunately, since Apple's Home Sharing identifies the device via IP, DHCP will conflict with their security system and cause said error because the device will get a new IP each time it connects to your Asus home network.

To facilitate Home Sharing and other IP-based networking functions, you'll have to manually give an IP to your devices with these steps!:
