About MySafe Parental Control

MySafe Parental Control is a one-stop internet filtering system built into MyRepublic's network. It allows users to set guidelines on how the household uses the internet, such as monitoring and restricting websites, limiting access during certain times or even choose pre-set filters that block content that are deemed inappropriate.

All MyRepublic customers may sign up for MySafe Parental Control via MyAccount. Customers are entitled to a free 6 months trial of the service, after which it will be automatically discontinued.

Do note that only the registered MyRepublic account holder may sign up for MySafe Parental Control.

MySafe Parental Control is recommended for families who wish to improve their protection from the potential dangers of the internet. The intuitive, easy to customize service provides peace of mind to anyone using the network.

Note: MySafe Parental Control will apply to all devices in your household connected to your MyRepublic network, and individual devices must be whitelisted for the restrictions to be lifted.

 

MySafe Parental Control Charges

All MyRepublic customers are eligible to a 6-month free trial of MySafe Parental Control, which will be indicated by the message above at the MySafe Parental Control page in your MyAccount if you have yet to activate your 6-month free trial yet.

After 6 months, or if you deactivate your MySafe Parental Control service during the free trial, the trial will end and the service will be automatically discontinued, unless you choose to opt-in. Opting in or subsequent activations will start a recurring monthly charge.

MySafe Parental Control costs $1.99/month, which will be charged to your MyRepublic account once it is activated.

To opt-in, go to the MySafe Parental Control page in your MyAccount and click on the button on the top right to switch your status from opt-out to opt-in.

 

How to sign up for MySafe Parental Control

 

To activate MySafe Parental Control, start by logging in to your MyAccount via https://myaccount.myrepublic.com.sg/login, and selecting the “Parental Control” icon from either the main menu or the “Manage Add-Ons” page.

 

In the MySafe Parental Control page, click on the “Activate MySafe Parental Control” to activate your account, and select “ok” on the pop-up box to complete the procedure. Congratulations, you are now ready to use MySafe Parental Control!

 

How to use MySafe Parental Control

 

MySafe Parental Control will run in the background and apply to all devices on your MyRepublic network. To edit the settings of your MySafe Parental Control, log in to your MyAccount and click on the Parental Control button in the main page or under “Manage Add-Ons”.

 

If you have already activated your MySafe Parental Control, click on the “Nominum Parental Control portal” button. If not, activate your MySafe Parental Control account to continue.

If this is your first time accessing your MySafe Parental Control portal, you will be asked to select a protection level. Choose between Light, Medium or Strict, or customize your own protection level, according to your own household requirements. Click Finish Setup to set the protection level for all devices in your household.

Once you have set your restriction level, you can click on the “See Details” button in your MySafe Parental Control portal main menu to configure it.

Click on “View Details & Edit” to change your MySafe Parental Control protection level, or click on “Homework Time” and “Internet Off” to set restrictions on internet usage or site access for specific periods of time for all devices in your household.

Finally, to block and allow specific pages, go to your MySafe Parental Control account settings. In the main menu, click on the gear at the top right of the screen to access your MySafe Parental Control account settings.

Under “Block List & Allow List” in your MySafe Parental Control account settings, you can type in a URL to block or allow access to all pages in that URL. For example, if you type in “cnn.com” in the “Block List” column, you will block all access to all pages under cnn.com for all devices in your household.
